Logging in with your PIN
Every Pickscan install is protected by a per-user PIN. The PIN identifies which warehouse operator is using a device, so every scan, pick, and pack is audit-logged to the right person.
Where your PIN comes from
Your administrator creates your PIN when they add you as an app user in the Pickscan admin — on BigCommerce, Shopify, WooCommerce, or Linnworks. PINs are usually 4 digits. You can ask your admin to re-generate it for you at any time.
Logging in
- Open the Pickscan app on a paired Android device. You'll see the PIN-entry screen with a numeric keypad.
- Tap your PIN on the keypad. The app automatically submits once you've entered the full PIN — you don't need to tap a "confirm" button.
- On success, the main Picking screen opens.
If the PIN is wrong, the pad clears and an error message appears. Try again, or ask your admin to check or re-generate your PIN.
Switching users
Once you're logged in, the top of the app shows your name. To log out and let a different user take over:
- Open the menu from the top bar.
- Tap Log out.
- The next user enters their PIN on the keypad.
This means one shared device can be used by a whole warehouse team across a shift — every scan is still attributed to the logged-in user at the time.
Supervisor users
Some users are flagged as supervisors in the Pickscan admin. Supervisors log in with their PIN just like any other user, but the app exposes additional menu items — for example, overriding a pick line, releasing a batch held by another operator, or accessing settings. Standard users don't see those options.
Forgotten PIN
If a user forgets their PIN:
- An admin opens the Pickscan admin on your platform and finds the user in the Users list.
- Click Show PIN to reveal it, or Generate to issue a new one.
- Share the PIN with the user.
Pickscan doesn't support user-driven PIN reset on the device itself — PINs are always set by an admin, so there's nothing sensitive exposed to the operator.
