Connecting your device with a device code

Every Pickscan Android device is paired with a single store using a short device code. The code is generated in your Pickscan admin — on Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, or Linnworks — and entered on the device once. After that, the device stays paired until you remove it.

Getting a device code

Where you generate the code depends on your platform:

  • BigCommerce — open Pickscan from the BigCommerce admin → DevicesAdd Device.
  • Shopify — open Pickscan from the Shopify admin → DevicesAdd Device.
  • WooCommerce — go to Pickscan in WordPress admin → DevicesAdd DeviceGenerate Code.
  • Linnworks — open Pickscan in Linnworks → DevicesAdd Device.

Each request generates a new code. Codes are short-lived — generate a fresh one if you don't pair the device within a few minutes.

Entering the code on the device

  1. Open the Pickscan app on the Android device.
  2. If this is a new install, you'll see the device-code entry screen straight away. Otherwise the app will already be paired — skip this guide.
  3. Tap the code field and type the code shown in your Pickscan admin.
  4. Tap Done on the keyboard. The device validates the code with the Smartcode backend.

If the code is valid, the device transitions to the user-login (PIN) screen. The device now appears in your Pickscan admin with a green "online" indicator.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid code." The code has expired, has already been used, or was mistyped. Generate a fresh code from your Pickscan admin and try again.

"No connection." The device can't reach the Smartcode backend. Check the Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection, then tap Retry.

I need to move a device to a different store. Remove the device from its current store's Pickscan admin. The device will show "Not connected" on its next sync — then generate a fresh code on the new store and enter it.
