Configuring your packing station

Pickscan for BigCommerce uses a dedicated packing station URL that warehouse staff open on a browser at the pack bench. To prevent unauthorised access, the packing station is locked to a list of trusted IP addresses you control from the BigCommerce admin.

Where to find it

Open Pickscan from the BigCommerce admin and click Packing in the left menu.

Enabling packing

Toggle Packing enabled on. When packing is disabled, any request from a browser to the packing URL is rejected, regardless of IP.

The packing URL

Pickscan generates a unique packing URL for your store. Click the Copy button next to the URL to copy it to your clipboard, then share it with your warehouse team. The URL can be bookmarked on the browser at each pack station.

Managing the IP whitelist

Only browsers connecting from an IP address on your whitelist can open the packing station. Most warehouses use a single static IP (their internet connection) or a small CIDR range.

Adding an IP

1. Enter an IPv4 address (e.g. 203.0.113.10) or a CIDR range (e.g. 203.0.113.0/24) into the input field.
2. Click Add.

Pickscan validates the format — invalid addresses or ranges are rejected with an error message.

Removing an IP

Click the Remove button next to any whitelisted entry to delete it. Removed IPs lose access to the packing URL immediately.

Finding your warehouse IP

If you don't know the public IP of your warehouse's internet connection, ask a user at that location to visit a site like ifconfig.me — the IP displayed is the one to whitelist.

For warehouses with a dynamic IP, use a CIDR range covering your ISP's pool, or set up a static IP with your internet provider.

Who should use the packing station

The packing URL is intended for warehouse pack bench computers, not for admins managing Pickscan. Admins open Pickscan as an embedded app inside the BigCommerce admin — no IP whitelist check is applied there.
