Choose whether picked orders are marked Completed in WooCommerce
Pickscan never changes an order's status unless you ask it to. Out of the box, an order a picker finishes on a phone stays at whatever status it had, usually Processing, so you can complete it yourself, or let your shipping or fulfilment tool do it.
If you'd rather Pickscan did it for you, turn on Mark Order Completed When Picked.
Before you begin
- You need Pickscan for WooCommerce 1.0.55 or later. Check the version on your Plugins page.
- You need to be signed in to WordPress as an administrator or shop manager.
When an order moves to Completed, WooCommerce sends the customer its Completed order email, just as if you had completed the order by hand. If you want to send that email yourself after dispatch, leave this setting off.
How it works
| Setting | When a picker finishes an order on a phone |
|---|---|
| Off (default) | The order status is left as it is, e.g. Processing. |
| On | The order moves to Completed. Orders that are already completed are left alone. |
This applies to picks on the Pickscan app for Android, iPhone and iPad. Picking in the browser, on the Pick tab in WordPress, works differently: the order is only completed when you press Mark order complete, whatever this setting is.
Turn it on
- Open Pickscan settings
In WordPress, go to WooCommerce → Pickscan and open the Settings tab.
- Find Mobile App Configuration
Scroll to the Mobile App Configuration card.
- Switch the setting on
Turn on
Mark Order Completed When Picked.
Mark Order Completed When Picked, switched on. - Save
Press
Save. The change applies to the next order a picker finishes, so there's no need to restart or re-pair the phones.
To go back to the default, switch it off and press Save again.
Tips
- Using a shipping or label plugin? Some only list orders at
Processing. If yours does, keep this setting off so orders are still there to ship after picking. - Want a record of the pick? Switch on
Log To Internal Order Notesas well. Pickscan then adds a private note to the WooCommerce order for each item scanned, e.g.Item SKU-01254 scanned correct by Paul Jenkins, and another when the order is picked. It works whether or not this setting is on. - Nothing changed after a pick? Make sure you pressed
Saveafter switching the setting on, and that the picker finished the whole order. A partly picked order is never completed.
