Managing users and devices in Pickscan for WooCommerce

Every Pickscan install has two things you manage from the WordPress admin: app users (the people who log into the Android app) and devices (the Android handsets connected to your store). Both are managed from tabs inside the Pickscan plugin.

Where to find it

From the WordPress admin sidebar, click Pickscan, then switch between the Users and Devices tabs.

Managing users

App users log into the Android app with a 4-digit PIN. All scanning activity is tracked back to the user operating the device, for audit purposes.

Adding a user

  1. On the Users tab, click Add User.
  2. Fill in the fields:
    • First Name (required)
    • Surname (required)
    • PIN — type a 4-digit PIN manually, or click Generate to create one automatically.
    • Is Supervisor — tick this to grant supervisor permissions. Supervisors have access to additional features in the mobile app.
  3. Click Save.

The new user appears in the list. Share the PIN with them directly — they'll enter it on the Android app to log in.

Viewing and editing users

The user list shows each user's name, supervisor status, and PIN. The PIN is hidden by default — click the eye icon to reveal it.

Disabling a user

Click Disable next to any user to stop them logging into the Android app. Disabled users are kept in the list for audit history; you can re-enable them at any time.

Searching

Use the search field above the user list to filter by name.

Managing devices

Each Android device is paired with your store via a short code generated in the WordPress admin.

Adding a device

  1. On the Devices tab, click Add Device.
  2. Click Generate Code. Pickscan displays a device code on screen.
  3. On the Android device, open the Pickscan app and enter the code. See Connecting your device with a device code.

The device appears in the list as soon as it connects.

Viewing and renaming devices

Each device tile shows:

  • Name — editable; click Rename to give it a friendly label like "Warehouse 1".
  • Device code — the code used when pairing.
  • Status — Online or Offline, with the time it was last seen.

Removing a device

Click Delete on a device tile to remove it. Removed devices immediately lose access and must be re-paired with a fresh code.

Searching

Use the search field above the device list to filter by name.

Plan limits

The devices tab shows your current plan name and device allowance. Contact support@smartcode.co.uk if you need to increase your device limit.
