Configuring your packing station

Set up the Pickscan packing station — a browser URL your warehouse team uses at the pack bench to confirm items and fulfil orders.

Before you begin

  • Ensure you have admin access to Pickscan in your Shopify admin.
  • Ensure you have the public IP address of your warehouse internet connection.

Enabling web packing

By default, web packing is disabled. Open Pickscan and click Settings. Scroll to the Packing Station section and toggle Enable web packing on.

Setting up the IP whitelist

Only IP addresses on the whitelist can open the packing station. Most warehouses use a single static IP — their internet connection's public IP. We strongly advise restricting your packing station URL back to a restricted IP address for security purposes.

The packing URL

Once web packing is enabled, Pickscan shows a unique packing URL for your store. Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard, then share it with your warehouse team. Bookmark it on each pack bench browser.

  1. Find your warehouse IP

From the warehouse, visit ifconfig.me — the IP shown is the one to add. If your connection uses a dynamic IP, use a CIDR range or ask your ISP for a static IP.

  2. Add the IP

Enter an IPv4 address (for example 203.0.113.10) or CIDR range (for example 203.0.113.0/24) in the IP whitelist field and click Add IP. Invalid formats are rejected.

To remove an IP, click the remove button on its tag. Removed IPs lose access immediately.

Note

Leaving the IP whitelist empty allows connections from any IP address. Only do this if your packing URL is protected another way.

Who uses the packing station

The packing URL is for warehouse pack bench computers. Shopify admins access Pickscan through the embedded app in Shopify — the IP whitelist does not apply there.
